A Bike in Mehran’s Price – Owner Review

A Bike in Mehran’s Price – Owner Review

Today we have the owner’s review of the very popular Yamaha YBR 125G. A strong competitor of Honda CG125 and a bike that costs as much as an old Mehran!!!

Introduction

The owner was a long-time fan of the bike and wanted to get his hands on it as soon as possible. So, when the bookings opened, he quickly got the bike booked for himself and received it within 2 weeks.

Features

The Yamaha YBR 125G is a beautiful bike with an attractive design. It is available in 3 colors – black, red, and matte grey. The owner had initially booked the bike in the grey color that sports neon green lines on the fuel tank. But, that order did not come through, and he had to settle on the black-colored variant. The matte grey YBR 125G is Rs. 3000 more expensive than the other two.

YBR 125G comes with a self-start function. The bike looks similar to a trail bike with high-quality, tough tyres. The front tyre has a disc brake, which makes the bike better than its competitors. It does not only let you achieve high acceleration but also lets you stop the bike with ease whenever you want.

Initially, Yamaha had muted the sound of the bike with the help of a black, chrome-plated cylinder. Later on, the sound was increased in competition with Hoda CG125. The bike has a beautiful yet appropriately loud roar which complements its design.

Modifications

Yamaha YBR 125G was initially launched in 2015. Since then, the company has only changed the sticker of the bike and added minute alterations to the meter. A recent addition was the inclusion of a matte grey color variant. Other than that, the company has not made any major modifications to the bike.

As for the owner, he replaced the big indicators of the bike with sleeker ones that are similar to those of an Audi. he added that due to the driving practices in Pakistan, huge indicators like the original ones get damaged easily.

Ride and Comfort

The Yamaha YBR 125G comes with a sleek and comfortable seat. Even the pillion rider has comfortable and ample space to sit. Its comfort is one of the main reasons why the owner chose to buy it.

The bike is weighty, but its weight is very easy to manage. It is an easy-to-handle bike with great features and comfort. The bike also comes with a 5th gear which allows the rider to ride the bike smoothly.

Mileage and Fuel Capacity

The Yamaha YBR 125G comes with a fuel capacity of 13 liters. Right after buying the bike, the owner filled the tank to the brim to check its fuel economy. He found out that the bike has an average mileage of 40-42 km/l as opposed to the company’s claim of 45 km/l.

Maintenance

Yamaha had given 5 tuning coupons to the owner at the time of purchase. The company recommended tuning the bike for the first time after either 1 month or 1000 kilometers. The owner has yet to change the oil ut anticipates an expense of Rs. 1000-1700.

Price

The owner had bought his YBR 125G for Rs. 2 lacs, 66 thousand. Add Rs. 8000 for the number plate on top and you get a total of around 2 lacs, 75 thousand. At the time of the review, the price of the bike had increased further due to the devaluation of the Rupee. The new price was around Rs. 3 lacs.

Owner’s Verdict

The owner is not satisfied with a couple of things in the bike. One of those things is the small mudguard on the front tyre. The mudguard is too small to fulfill its purpose and does not stop the mud from bombarding the rider.

Moreover, he is still trying to get the hang of getting the gear neutral. He also thinks that the price is too much for the features that Yamaha is offering.

Other than that, he is very fond of the bike’s youthful design, its comfort, and its speed.
