Sport shorts: Gear Grinder bike race results announced – Jamestown Sun

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department announced the race results of the 2022 Gear Grinder Mountain Bike Race and the Pipestem Creek Trail Walk and Run.

The event took place on Aug. 13 at the Pipestem Creek Trail. 56 people participated in the event.

Pipestem Trail 3 mile Walk

There were 56 participants in the 2022 Gear Grinder Mountain Bike Race and the Pipestem Creek Trail Walk and Run.

NDAPSSA puts out final preseason football poll

The North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA) released its preseason picks for the preseason Class AA football poll Monday evening.

State champs, West Fargo Sheyenne, collected 11 of 13 first place votes for 62 total points while Bismarck Century racked up 48 points and one vote to land them in the No. 2 slot

Mandan, Fargo Shanley and Fargo Davies rounded out this week’s top-five. West Fargo received one first place votes but did not crack into the top-five teams.

Some of the Class A teams have one week of competition under their belt and the NDAPSSA released the first official poll on Monday.

While Bill Nelson’s Blue Jays have not yet played a game, Jamestown still came out on top garnering 14 first-place votes for 78 points.

Fargo North now stands at 1-0 and the Spartans collected a pair of votes to put them in the second spot this week.

Dickinson, Grand Forks Red River and Fargo South were deemed the No. 3-5 teams this week.
